As a national park is to be formed in the Nämndö archipelago, a lot is happening on many fronts, for example at the association Nämndö Green Archipelago. To begin the development of the Nämdö archipelago into a biosphere reserve, a broad anchoring work is being done and local involvement is being created. Their long-term goal with the biosphere reserve is to create a sustainable development in a viable archipelago area where there are functioning ecosystem services, both above and below the surface, where humans and the environment work in harmony.
