The Council and the European Parliament reached an agreement on Thursday night to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in EU shipping, the so-called FuelEU Maritime initiative.
- I am very happy that we have achieved this important result during the Swedish presidency in order to be able to reduce emissions from shipping. My hope is that the success can now rub off on the other negotiations taking place within the Fit for 55 climate package, says Infrastructure and Housing Minister Andreas Carlson.
