Invitation to training on sustainable infrastructure for environment and energy on islands

SRF's Working Group on Sustainable Archipelago has applied for and received project funding from the EU's Erasmus+ Education Program in the area of "Local small-scale partnerships for adult education" for training on sustainable environmental & energy infrastructure on islands.

Target groups are members of SRF's member associations, residents on islands in the Swedish archipelago, representatives of local and regional administration (e.g. rural developers, environment and health administration, business developers), representatives of local public energy and VA companies. The aim of the training is to spread the knowledge that Samsö Energy Academy has to Swedish islands and archipelagos, network creation and to be able to enthuse an island to start a local development project. As such projects normally require the participation of local public administration, we also want to invite public representatives of regional and local administration to the training.

The training consists of four digital meetings in the evening and a 4-day study trip to Samsö in Denmark, which has long worked with local infrastructure for the environment and energy via its Energy Academy. At Samsö, we make a number of study visits to various facilities. Two digital meetings are held before the trip and two after. The trip is April 25-28. It is only possible to participate in the digital meetings if you cannot join the trip. See the attached PDF with the invitation.

The project accounts for the majority of costs for the education and the study trip (travel, board and lodging). A small fee/participant is charged for self-financing according to EU regulations. There are 30 places for the course.

SRF's hope is that someone from the member associations feels compelled to participate. You may also know others may be interested in joining. Feel free to get in touch Olle Nygren (070-6636706) if you have further questions or concerns.
