After a sumptuous breakfast, it was time for the day's activities. After a joint start-up with a short presentation round, SIKO had to give a presentation of its business. Then there was a so-called influence square during the morning.

Well, what is impact square then? There were five stations where different themes are discussed. Participants mingled between the stations and participated in the discussions.

Station 1. Our eight goals

How are we going to achieve our eight goals that we agreed on last year in the 2022-2024 strategy? Which activities can the working groups help with that fit under the goals? Joar and Lotten from the board led this station.

Station 2. Participation and communication to/from member associations

How can we increase participation and communication to/from the member associations? It is a question where the participants had to provide input to Bengt from the board.

Station 3. Project

We have an ongoing project on archipelago research and an applied for Erasmus project. These and other project ideas were discussed at this station with Maggan and Sten-Åke from the board.

Station 4. Working methods of the working groups

Here, it was open to opinions and suggestions for the workgroups' working methods and finances. The participants got to talk to Anetté, our operations manager.

Station 5. Leader and other projects

To apply for Leader projects or to apply for project money from other places, the participants were welcome to discuss with Maria and Sune from the board.

Before the lunch break, there was a summary of the influence square. Several different ideas and suggestions emerged during the mingle.

After lunch there was some free time for the participants. Some took the opportunity to meet in the working groups. Among other things, the Blåljusgruppen saw fit to meet together with the Jordbruksgruppen and the Ferry Group to collaborate on common issues. The nomination committee took the opportunity to interview the board ahead of the upcoming annual meeting.

A toast to the 40-year-old.

Then at 15 p.m. the 40th anniversary began with a toast to the 40-year-old. This was followed by a collection of memories, some pictures and pleasant stories and reflections on the years with SRF and its activities and difficulties.

Kjell shared some memories from his almost 40 years as an active member of SRF with a slide show running in the background.
Sune reflected a little on his years as chairman
Lennart shared memories from his time as leader of the Environment & Energy Group within SRF

The last feature before the celebratory dinner was a speech by Irene, new chairman of All of Sweden must live, where she presented the organization and how they work.

What a party it was. As expected, there was good food in a three-course dinner and drinks to your liking. It was just a matter of buying out drink tickets as needed. Between the courses, there was a sing-along and speeches by several former SRF members who were invited to the anniversary. Even a couple of fires were removed after many years of work in SRF. Due to the pandemic, it could not happen until this time.

After dinner, the SRF management felt that some post-meal activity was needed among the participants and set the whole group moving with dance. It was a Scottish group dance that everyone had the opportunity to experience.

After all the food and dancing, there was a more traditional get-together in the bar before the evening was over.

The next morning began, after an equally overwhelming breakfast, with Eva telling us about the older material that is left, among other things, on her computer. She said that it is only necessary to contact her if you want to reuse older material in some way, e.g. articles from older issues of We Archipelago residents.

Eva talked about the material that is stored

Lotten did a review of what is on SRF's Google drive, and how to effectively use the drive functions. Drive is not just a storage place, but a work platform with a lot of smart functions.

Lotte showed how drive works

Another important activity was taking the traditional group photo.

Then it was time for the formal representative council meeting. The agenda was established. After electing meeting officials, etc., the board presented issues that it wanted the Rep cabinet to take a position on.

An important issue is to establish an annual cycle, i.e. when different activities will take place and who will be responsible for carrying out the activities. This applies, for example, to when should rep meetings be held, when should meetings with the working groups be held, when should the election committee work etc.

Decided that the annual meeting will be held digitally on February 19, 2023, with a preparatory pre-meeting. The next rope cabinet will be held November 10-12, 2023.

In addition to the ongoing permanent working groups, such as the ferry group that has regular meetings with TrV and the Ferry Company, it must also be possible to create working groups that focus on one issue and that are active for a shorter period of time. The budget should therefore have money available for issues that come up continuously during the year.

SRF is looking for projects. Right now, the Sustainable Archipelago group has an application to the Erasmus program to learn more about infrastructure for the environment and energy.

The board has an idea about a Mahogany club with former employees of SRF that can help create increased island identity.

Another idea is to create pleasure trips to visit different islands. It could, for example, be a working group that works on this and gets member associations to invite. The trip is arranged at cost price with a contribution from SRF. Birgitta Källgren takes it upon herself to try to arrange this.

Sune described the project Hello hometown, which is a cross-municipal project between Pajala and Övertorneå municipalities with the support of Region Norrbotten and Sparbanken Nord. The basis is the feasibility study Attractive housing market in sparsely populated areas which was carried out in 2019. The project works with advice and support for property owners who want to sell or rent out, and for house seekers and new builders who want to move in.

The action plan for 2023 has begun and many proposals have come forward during these days. The board will return with a revised draft plan later.

There is a proposed budget for 2023, which is pretty rough so far. The working groups are asked to come up with proposals for what they want to do in 2023, so that a detailed budget proposal can be drawn up for the annual meeting. One way to build up a capital reserve is to recruit more associations to SRF so that more membership fees come in. The government grant cannot be saved but must be used up during the year, otherwise the surplus must be repaid.

The rep cabinet thought the influence square was good. The board will compile the results of the square and present them on the website.

All member associations are asked to compile some text about what the association has done in recent years to be included in a writing about the 40th anniversary. The board wants these texts before Christmas.

Kjell from the Fishing Group raised the issue of sustainable small-scale local fishing that is not working today. The fishing group is wondering if there are any ideas on how to proceed with this matter. Anna-Karin talked about the Program Council for Biological Diversity. The Sami Parliament has been tasked with looking at the issue and is focusing on its issues, but there are many other issues. The SRF should be able to participate here. Here the fishing issue could come up.

The newsletter, which is sent out publicly, is read by many politicians and civil servants at authorities and ministries. Feel free to write material that can be included, so the newsletter can come out more often.

Uffe said that SIKO is in contact with a number of agents for package delivery so that more packages can now be delivered to the archipelago.

Uffe also told about a project to collect parked vehicles etc.

The meeting was concluded by thanking the meeting and party fixers, Anette, Björn and Urban.
