REDO is a collaborative project between the Swedish Maritime Administration and RISE that was initiated by the shipping industry's horizontal collaboration Vågrätt.
- The purpose of the project was to identify driving forces and obstacles for women in shipping and develop solutions for diversification and expansion of the recruitment base, says Sara Fallahi, project manager.
The Swedish Transport Agency is also working on measures to improve conditions at sea. A new strategy for Swedish maritime supervision, better reporting of accidents and international work to raise awareness of social ills on board. These are some of the proposals that the Swedish Transport Agency submits to the government to contribute to safer, more sustainable and efficient shipping.
